Surviving the Holiday Food Cravings

Happy Holidays to all of our readers!


Today I wanted to focus on one topic- holiday food cravings. Kind of a scary thing to think about right?



First things first. Do not let guilt over take you if you eat a cookie. Its Ok. I promise, just BREATHE. However, we do not want to make this a habit. People often tend to over indulge during the holiday season, and with this people often gain an average of 10 lbs during the season.


So how can we fight the cravings?


First, make sure you are drinking PLENTY of water. According to the goals we have set in your wellness plan, aspire to that. If you haven't met with me yet, try to drink at least 64 oz of water per day.


Second, and this is an important one, keep up with your exercise routine. Its super easy to become overwhelmed with the amount of things you have going on during the holidays, but make sure to keep up with your exercise! Remember, the more you exercise, the higher rate of metabolism you have, the more caloric expenditure your body naturally uses.


Third, eat protein! We recommend light and lean protein such as chicken, turkey, and seafood dishes. The more protein you consume, the fuller you feel, the less cravings you will have.
